drag racing























http://www.cscs.ca/The canadian sport compact drag racing series is located in cayuga ontario, you must see it to believe it, the cars are just unreal. the show and shine is peoples cars they display for looks and their are differnt classes for dragging, such as bracket racing open to any vehicles that are capable of 7.5-19.99 second quarter mile. Theirs street warz that features street legal cars running no faster than 12.50 for quarter mile. Also super street This class features forced induction street legal trim cars with mufflers. Forced induction is compulsory. Must run 14.99 or faster to qualify. Super street power adder is the same but you must run at least 13.99 to qualify. Bully all motor is a class up requiring no nitrous or forced induction, Must run 12.99 or faster to qualify, which is pretty damn impressive. And the class for the pros is called pro compact which is for any car running 10 second cars or faster. The cscs season opener is june 1st 09. If you want to just watch the races its 18$, if you want to enter your vehicle in the race its 50$ for a heads up drag and 40$ to make a run to test and tune your vehilce.There is a course which is a curvey track called open lapping which costs $100 to pre register and $130 to enter at the track if spots are available.To enter your car at the show and shine its $15 pre registered.
Their are also some rules and regulations in order to drag race as of follows:
ARM RESTRAINTS.Required on all open bodied cars ROLLCAGE Vehicles 9.00 ET or Faster; any vehicle faster than 135 MPH and any vehicle with altered floor or firewall; head contact must be padded.ROLLBAR Convertibles faster than 13.49ET; all cars 11.49 ET or faster; all cars must have padded head protection PARACHUTE 150MPH or faster 200+MPH requires 2 parachutes which must be deployed on any run over 150MPH BELTS All vehicles required to have roll bar or roll cage SFI 16.1 5pt Restraint. All others must have an accepted quick release system.BATTERYMust not be located in the driver or passenger compartment.Barrier firewall required; battery secured with minimum 3/8" bolts.OVERFLOW Minimum 1 pint overflow required on all radiators stock overflow adequate on most street cars ALL CONVERTIBLES; 90 OR NEWER any vehicle with a roll bar installed Must have valid DOT drivers license except Jr.Dragster. All vehicles faster than 9.00 require IHRA Competition License.FIRE SYSTEM 8.49 or quicker required, one nozzle on driver, one nozzle on engine.8.50-11.49ET must have a securely mounted fire extinguisher.NECK COLLAR 8.49 and faster recommended to all vehicles requiring helmet.SWITCHES Neutral safety switch required on all vehicles master battery cutoff mandatory 0-9.99 ET or if battery is relocated.*TAILIGHTS All vehicles must have at least one working taillight. Must be turned on for night racing.DRIVESHAFT Any car using slicks must have driveshaft loop installed. Any cars with alterations, see IHRA rulebook.NITROUSAllowed in most classes.
